From 24 to 26 October, Shanghai SGR exhibited at IME2018, the 13th China International Microwave and Antenna Technology Exhibition. Based in Shanghai Auto City, Sijie Microelectronics is committed to developing domestically produced millimetre-wave radar chips to support the ADAS industry.


At the event, SGR showcased two 24GHz single-transmitter, single-receiver radar chips and one single-transmitter, dual-receiver radar chip, as well as radar modules developed based on these three chips for Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and for smart home/Internet of Things (IoT) applications. In addition to the traditional ADAS sector, Sijie’s millimetre-wave radar chips are also making a significant impact in the smart home and IoT sectors. Millimetre-wave radar is characterised by its all-weather performance, resistance to interference and high detection sensitivity, making it particularly well-suited to detection applications in the smart home and IoT sectors; it attracted a large number of trade visitors at the exhibition. As awareness of millimetre-wave radar grows, an increasing number of sectors will adopt radar modules as solutions. Leveraging its robust technical expertise, Sijie Microelectronics provides comprehensive solutions ranging from chips to modules, helping customers shorten development cycles and enhance product competitiveness.


On 25 October, Dr Lu, CEO of SGR, was invited to attend the IME2018 Technical Forum, where he delivered a keynote speech on millimetre-wave radar technology and its applications to attendees in a conference room on the ground floor of the exhibition venue.


Although the on-site audio-visual experience was somewhat limited by the exhibition venue—with many attendees having to stand whilst listening to Dr Lu’s presentation—this did nothing to dampen the audience’s enthusiasm.

With the growing adoption of millimetre-wave radar in the smart home and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors, SGR is also committed to supporting the development of China’s IoT and smart technology industries.
